C.O.M.B.O. stands for
'The Collective Of Musicians of Belfast Organisation'.
C.O.M.B.O. was formed in the summer of 2002, after a little light hearted 'jibe' at Pól Mac Adaim from myself in a conversation which went something like this...(Minus intemperate swearing of course...)
"...Hey, Mac Adaim instead of singing and moaning about the plight of fellow strugglers around the world, who are fighting for justice, freedom and human rights.... Why don't you get off your arse and actually do something constructive and positive about it?' .... more of those expletives were exchanged and the result was Pól saying 'O.K. - I'm your man!!! If you will.. I will!!

Over one year later we have established an annual fund raising event for I.P.S.C. which has come to be known as a 'Must see, must attend event'on the calendar of summer months in West Belfast.This unlikely alliance lead to a highly successful double gig held in the Felons Club and the Red Devil bar, raising funds and awareness for the I.P.S.C.
The funds raised helped the I.P.S.C. bring a few Palestinian children to Ireland for a well deserved break from the tragedy and injustice foisted upon them by the twin evils of U.S. foreign policy and Israeli dominance.
The children were also able to exchange stories with many audiences in venues ranging from universities to community groups.
So driven by the spirit created during the first events, all the musicians who selflessly gave their time and effort got together again... and shortly thereafter the 'Collective' was born.

Other bands and musicians spanning from all communities and genre of music have been adding their support to C.O.M.B.O. Giving a vibrant, considerable and real base upon which we at C.O.M.B.O. can build in the future.

C.O.M.B.O. is about musicians and people coming together to give vent to the anger and feeling of helplessness many feel when faced by the horrific scenes state tyranny and state terrorism have delivered for so long.
We say it's time for it to end, unity is our true strength. We each have a part to play, nay, a duty to stand up for our oppressed brothers and sisters around the world, many of whom showed us equal solidarity during our many years of struggle.
Join in the fight, support us and in doing so you will show the evil people of this world that you do care and you will stand up and be counted from now on.Joe, the 'Damaging Director'and Pól of C.O.M.B.O.
